Art in the news
After creating, with stylist Emmanuelle Alt, the phenomenon of Balmainia, former creative director Christophe Decarnin abruptly departed from the house he’d brought back to relevance, citing only medical concerns. As the press buzzed about the escalating pressures of the industry (in the wake not only of Decarnin’s departure but of Galliano’s anti-Semitic outburst and McQueen’s suicide), the label appointed an impossibly young, all but untested designer to take his place: The then-25-year-old Frenchman Olivier Rousteing, who’d worked under Decarnin at the height of Balmain’s moment.

ART IN THE NEWS.
British designer Stella McCartney will show a one-off range as she returns to London Fashion Week next year although she will continue to show her main range in Paris, it was revealed Thursday.
The designer, who counts Hollywood stars such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Winslet as fans, will show the range on February 18 during the unveiling of the 2012 autumn/winter 2012 collections. The news, released by London Fashion Week's organisers, is a boost to the British capital, which trails behind Paris, Milan and New York in the league of international shows.
London's status has been put further under threat by a change to the fashion calendar which means that in September 2012, Milan will overlap New York by a day, and run over the entire duration of London Fashion Week.
London was also celebrating the news that the Alexander McQueen diffusion line McQ, featuring its signature tartan designs, is to show in the capital next season for the first time.
The British designer took his own life last year, but his designs remain highly popular.

To showcase their Spring 2012 collection, the sister design duo of Dannijo Danielle and Jodie Snyder enlisted the help of photographer Lyle Owerko—who famously shot the image that appeared on Time magazine’s September 11, 2001 issue—to photograph their friends wearing Dannijo gems. “The Portraits project we did with Lyle was so well received that the concept has expanded into the birth of a zine about individuals and lifestyle,” Danielle tells Style.com of their newest project. The free biannual, launching November 14, is set to be distributed in shops selling their jewelry and in art galleries and restaurants around the world.

This photographer that I know takes amazing photos, generally of live bands. The middle one was only a test shot of Mikey Way from My Chemical Romance and even that turned out amazing. I really love the clarity in her photos.

Free Art Review: Rise Against.
Rise Against's song/video 'Make it Stop' has had a huge impact on me lately. I've loved the song since forever and the video makes me cry every single time I watch it.
This song takes a different outlook on writing a song about being gay. Not just being proud but what each person has to go through. But in the end it gives a person hope.
This video is a part of the 'It Gets Better' Project.

So, suprise suprise, my art in the news blog is about a fashion photographer. la di da.
At that moment Martin Munkácsi (pronounced moon-kashi) took the picture that would make both his career, and photographic history. Until then fashion was a staged affair, using mannequin-like models in a musty studio. Here, on Lucile's face, her chin stretched resolutely forward, was a genuine, breathless grin, matched in ebullience by the triumphant billowing of the cape behind her. 'This was never done before,' Snow wrote. 'This was the first big innovation I introduced to Harper's Bazaar .'
Yep.
Woot.

Free Art Review: Blink-182's new album
I'm exactly sure just how new this is, but I know it came out this year. With the first single "Up All Night" this album made its way around and broght all the dead Blink fans back to life. Blink-182 also promoting this album in a way by going on tour with the almighty My Chemical Romance on the Honda Civic tour, made a mess of Blink fans everywhere, the fans filling up the venues as if it was the last show they were going to play.
Blink-182, in my opinion having grown up around their music, have made a great comeback. the album introducing a widespread variety of the way they have evolved by creating catchy tunes thatget stuck in your head. I am a perfect example of this. I've had songs from this album stuck in my head for weeks. Not that I'm complaining.

Free Art Review: One of my favorites
This Album has been a big part of my life lately. Even though it was released back in 2003-2004, this is when I fell in love with this band. My Chemical Romance's Album "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" Has all of my favorite songs on it. And I really like the album artwork. This was a drawing by the frontman, Gerard Way, trying to explain the picture he wanted taken for the cover, but ended up just using the drawing instead.
I enjoy this album with all my freaking heart and it has a really really important meaning to me.

Yeah, just another painting with light. I actually really like this one because of the contrast in black and white.
I don't really remember what I did though.

"Several works by the renowned graffiti artist Banksy were sold yesterday evening (21 September 2011) in a packed saleroom at Bonhams, New Bond Street, as part of its Urban Art sale. Leading the way was a work featuring one of Banksy’s most iconic images, the monkey, entitled Monkey Detonator, which had attracted a pre-sale estimate of £70,000 – 90,000, and was sold for £97,250. Executed in 2000, this canvas displays the typically dark sense of humour which has endeared Banksy to both art collectors and the general public."
I picked this because I liked the way the artist posed with his sold painting and the acutal artwork itself.

Art Review; Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
I watch a lot of movies, but I haven't watched many new one lately.
But the Movie Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World is to me me all time Favorite.
I really like how the more you watch it, you a more and more compeled to watch the extra background things and connect them to everything in the story line, to a point where you aren't evven watching the movie, you are watching the background.
I think the actors were very good too.

Art Review; My Chemical Romance
So Saturday August 20th, I went to Chicago to go to the Honda Civic Tour with my mom and two of my best friends.
Manchester Orchestra opened, and Blink headlined.
But in between the two, was the band I came to see a second time.
My Chemical Romance.
They have been one of my favorite bands since Middle School and I was excited that my mom was going to come with me to this one, her being a new fan, also my friends, them also being their favorite band and also their first concert.
They came out and played a ton of songs I love, causing me to jump 3 feet in the air and scream at the top of my lungs.
They sounded amazing live and they had an amazing stage presense and entertained the crowd. Gerard (vocals) saying "The rules are, don't take your shirt off, and don't be an asshole."
They said a meaningful and quote worthy thank you and left the stage leaving the 1 in every 20 people there for them (the rest being there for Blink-182) wanting so much more.
This was definitley one of the best concerts I have been to so far.
I chose this picture because it has most of the band in it and I really like the smile Gerard has.
